    Hi,
I have a HKC alarm installed and I have a digi dialler in it to give texts when the alarm goes off. The incoming phone line is wired through the alrm box and out to the different phone points as recomended by HKC.
I only ever had an ordinary land line with eircom but now they have upgraded the line to broadband and I hope to install this.
Do I need to make any modifications or install some type of filter so the digi dialler will work on broadband. It is broadband with eircom 3mb.
I would appreciate any help with this.
    Thanks

    Hi Jogtipp,
Once you have broadband on your line going through the alarm i would install one. The alarm can cut the speeds you are receiving if you dont have one fitted. The broadband splitter filters the line giving you a line for the phone and a line for the broadband. There are different types you can get, the best one is EXCELSUS, MODEL NO ZA431EU. This goes inside the alarm panel letting you install the broadband on any line in the house.
    Hope this helps..

    Hi Altor
    Thanks for that.
My knowledge of broadband is limited.
I know the ordinary phone line is 2 wire and 50v dc. Is broadband 4 wire or is it two wire also.
Do you know where it is possible to pick up one of those filters and what they cost
    Thanks for your help

    Your welcome.
The broadband comes down the phone line also, the splitter splits the line filtering the phone and broadband. I get them in from England but have to buy 200 to place an order. There are other types of splitters you can use but in my experience these are the best..
