My careers teacher said it's almost impossible to get your work experience in a hospital and anyone who tried in my year didn't get in, even with contacts.

You've left it waaaaaaaay too late. I (and my friends) started writing middle of last year and only one of us (me) got it, and even then its only office work. I tried to get into the one in crumlin I think it was, rang on the very first day and all the places were gone.

I know that in Cork the Bons take TY students, but they'd be full by now. If you know a doctor that's the best way because you have to have someone who you can follow around basically.
