    Taken from Tom's Hardware
Were you hoping to be able to spend some time with Modern Warfare 2 before the November 10 launch date? Unless you can find a retailer who has broken street date, you're not going to get any time with the upcoming modern warfare shooter until the intended date.

The official Infinity Ward Twitter replied to a user asking about a demo, saying, "No plan for a Demo before launch. The entire team is focused on polish all the way up to ship of the full game."

Of course, with the success of the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, there really isn't a whole lot of marketing rationale in spending time to make a demo for a title that will surely break some sort of sales record for the 2009.

While those anxious to try the game ASAP will be disappointed, a more focussed and less stressed development team mean a better product. Besides, you need all the time you can get to save for you pennies for the Prestige Edition with night vision goggles.

Lazy bastards! Not happy about this at all tbh.

I'm pretty sure that he said this in the interview that marko91 posted.

It's disappointing in some ways but to be honest I'm not that surprised because they already know they have millions of sales...

Laziness and complacency may be the words but I'll reserve judgement until I've played the game :D

Would have liked a demo of single player mode but screw it, i have it preordered anyways (first time i've bothered preordering...)

I'll preobably wait until January before I buy it anyway... No point having the game on Day 1 as there will be no Promod... :pac:

I don't think it's down to laziness that they aren't putting out a demo. I'm sorta happy they aren't. I'd prefer that they polish everything, rather than get a demo early to get my fix, and the game needing a patch after 3 weeks.

No surprise and just adds to the list. They know it will sell without a demo...They know it will sell at Premium pricing. So they really don't care! It will sell on reputation...Better be worth it (although I'll probably be very late to get it...still have MW1 to finish :D)

    🤪

They don't need to release a demo when its going to sell millions its not like they need to promote it anymore. I'd rather have them polishing the game up and removing any exploits in the online mode than rushing it and releasing a demo for a game that everyone is going to buy

I worked in Activision, and I got in contact with one of the QA testers, and theres gonna be a private demo? Only to the IW people.. Least I think thats what he said!

Valve don't need to release a demo for Left 4 Dead 2 but they are to keep the hype train chugging along.

my mate works for a games chain and he has said that activision told him at a conference this is going to be the biggest game ever. they apparenlty are spending millions marketing this thing. the biggest problem is that it is sony and xbox who produce the discs for the game. the problem with this is that sony and xbox also produce the discs for all other publsishers who release games on their machines. there may not be enough stock for launch date due to sony and xbox not being able to produce enough stock for activision as well as all the pother publishers. i am gonna check that i am guarenteed my pre order for the 10th.

Nope, you get to wait a bit longer for the pc release with the "real gamer" crowd though
