Engine Oil Recommendations

    Hey,

I have an Alfa Romeo 156 t-spark and looking at the handbook it recommends Selinia Oil, which I can't seem to find anywhere.

Looking on forums there's mixed feelings about this, some people saying that Fiat have a financial interest which is why it's recommended and others saying the engine was built for this to be used.

Any comments recommendations? Or where can I even get it?

    Cheers
    Fusion

The grade of oil is what is important not the brand.

I'm not sure what oil your car takes but for example my car takes semi-synthetic 10w-40. Doesn't matter what brand. In saying that I do use Castrol Magnetic :)

From the manual it should list the grade and specification of the oil required. Take down this info and pick up from you local motor factors. The brand name doesn't matter but the grade does and in some engines the specification may do.

You need to use a good semi synthetic 10W40 oil of any decent brand. Full stop.

A good brand semi synthetic will do the job just fine.

Two things are important. Change it on time or early and stick to the recommended grade.
