Is anyone planning on signing up for the pre-marriage course with Avalon?

I gave them my details at the RDS wedding fair, and I received an email that if we sign up with another couple the fee is cut in half from 120 euro to 60 euro per couple! And the couples do not have to attend the course at the same location/dates. Great deal here!

They have three venues in Lucan, Malahide Rd. and Knocklyon. Dates for the courses on www.avalonrc.ie.

If anyone is interested, PM me and we can sign up together and save 60 euro!

    In all fairness,
I actually found it very useful and not as daft as I had expected.
No one is telling anyone how to live their life to be honest.

Sorry, am not helping the OP with his original post, however I feel the pre marital course has gotten a lot of bad press. Perhaps they are not all the same, or there are issues with how some are run and what is covered but the one we did in Galway was very beneficial for all the couples there. I think everyone took something from it, the priest who only did a short talk was very good and answered a lot of questions about the church and ceremony itself.
Bottom line, if you want to get married in the Catholic Church, you have to do it, what is covered is relevant and if couples have any outstanding issues, they may actually realise it in this course as well as understanding how to deal with married life.

Did the Avalon course in Knocklyon.. we had great craic, just take it for what it is and enjoy it.. it was just a Q&A session with your spouse-to-be, there should be no major surprises, and the facilitator was very relaxed.

    Enjoy!:)
