Contra-Deals?

    Hi Guys

I run a well known entertainment magazine (dont think i'm allowed to name it?) around Dublin. I'm looking to find out if there is anywhere I can look for people open to contra-deals? We print 40,000 copies a month and distribute all over Dublin. If i can find willing participants, I want to contra-offer advertising for products.

At the minute we are in need of extra computer equipment, a van and a few other bits and bobs (Open to offers...). I figure there might be a few people out there in similar position who would be open to contra-deals.

Does anyone here know of anywhere?

    Thanks a mill

    M

There's a new website called www.barter-it.ie where people/businesses can barter their services/products. Never used it myself. Just saw it mentioned in Business Plus mag (or similiar) last month.

    Might be worth a look.

Was always interested in a Barter economy but what are the tax implications?
Does the revenue take it as income? do you have to pay vat?
