Mourning the loss of my beard.

I'm typing this one handed whilst stroking my beard with tho other hand. I've been unemployed for a few months now,and the last job wouldn't tolerate beards,so I decided to grow my first beard. I love it,but it's at the vagabond stage. And with my first two interviews this week,I've decided it must go. The girlfriend will be glad, but I'm gonna miss it so much! Has anyone else had to debeard? Any tips for the grieving process?

Any tips for the grieving process?

Shave off the hair on your cojones as well, the itchy stubble there will distract you from the loss of your beard.

I grew a beard a few years back, but started getting called 'Harold' by some little turnip at work (after Harold Shipman), so, it went one Friday evening. Very liberating, trimming then shaving it off, the fresh air hitting my face felt like being patted gently with a squashed After Eight.

No more itching, at one with the breeze PetrovthePrat..

Been there myself before, it's strange for the first week or two after shaving it off. :(

Good luck with your interviews btw! :)

Many years back I shaved off a goatee and long hair on the one day. Surprisingly it was my chin that felt the cold the most.

Yeah I've been working on a beard for the last while, and it got a bit 'vagabondish' so I gave myself a 'Cmdr Riker'! I really like it.

    Can't go wrong!

    Hahaha :D

We came up with a unit of beard measurement here last year (jokingly) called a Riker. So if your beard is twice as long as Rikers then its 2 Rikers long. :pac:

The best thing about shaving off your beard is the slow rate at which your stubble grows afterwards!

It doesn't change the rate that it grows.

It did when I shaved my beard off first. It took a good two or three days until my stubble was as long as it is now 24 hours after shaving!

Youjust think it takes longer because you had long hair there and now its gone..

Now that your most used to shaving every couple of days you "think" the stubble comes back quicker.

Well, the interview went well, have a job of sorts. My half a riker is long gone, barring a few strays around the sink. Felt so bare without it. It bloody suited me,so now I know I'm a beardable man it's worse not having one. Alas,my hirsuite days are gone for now.

Mine is currently 2.5 Rikers ( I can cover my hand) but Its going tomorrow afternoon.

I generally shave when I find myself eating part of mybeard with my Breakfast roll

Trim your moustache to just above your lip. :)
