How do I check the status of my SW Claim?

I applied for SW on the 4th August and was given an appointment for the 12th August where I was also means tested by another person as I was living in the UK in 2007 and therefore didn't have tax credits for that year. I was asked to send in additional documents (partners payslip, banks statement etc) which I did within a few days. The lady who means tested me said that I "probably" wouldn't be entitled to anything due to my partners income but I have still not heard anything back from them stating whether or not I am entitled to payment (on the plus side when my credits are transfered from the UK I "should" be entitled to the full amount which will be back dated). How do I go about checking the status of my application?

You have to either go to the office where you signed on and go to the decisions hatch or just ring the social welfare office and ask for an update
