    Apologies if this sounds silly but I don't get what the big deal is with this function? Can someone highlight to me the benefits of it? I might set it up later tonight if it sounds good.

    For me anyway it means i can watch my films and TV shows on the big screen rather than on the laptop with poor laptop speakers.

    I have my pc connected via ethernet cable to my ps3, I can share out a folder on the pc and play all the content from the ps3 on my tv :)

    Its really handy because it saves you time copying stuff onto a usb drive then on to your ps3 and you can stream almost any file type to a ps3 like .MKV etc which it cant play directly without converting

    And let's say you have a file with subtitles (as in a separate subtitles file), will it run okay off the tv?
