Audi A4 Window Auto UP Problem

So my Audi A4 B7 2006 model decided to stop working on the Auto Up setting of the electric drivers side window. The Auto down part works but just not Auto Up. It will close if I hold the button up but no longer as Auto up.

It was working up to two days ago I have made NO changes to the car at all.

    Helpful advice appreciated. ;)

There is a way of resetting the window, from memory it involves something like running it all the way down and then all the way back up whilst holding the button. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly with a better explanation.

That didn't work anyway. But thank you.

Yeah I was thinking the same. You can turn it on and off from the key cant you? So maybe you pressed the combination by accident?

I have the exact same problem on my Astra.

What I am doing to do is that out the switch from the door and check the wiring.

    Maybe replace the switch.

If that doesnt work - keep looking along the wiring until find the route of the problem.

Borrow a Hayes bible if you can.

A quick google threw this up for me:

    window reset:-

    ignition on
    windows all the way down
windows allthe way up, let go of switches
push them up again and hold for 3-5 seconds
    ignition off

    Worth a try!

Your talk of something to do with my key lead me to press buttons on my key. Funny the things you discover isn't it.

My car keys will close the windows for me! All I have to do is hold down the lock key and if I hold down the unlock key it puts down all my windows.

Should open them for you too if you hold the unlock button...and if you've got folding mirrors it will do the same

Aha you think that but comfort opening is disabled for my car ( I think in software only but not sure) so if I hold down the open key the alarm goes off!
