Closed down permanently apparently!???????? The owners of the building decided to close it down. Anybody know why? purely because it wasn't not making enough money or what?

    Hi,

Sorry i am getting to this late been a busy day.

After a successful and busy cash league final in Tallaght on Sunday evening,
when I was leaving on Monday morning, I was informed by the Owner of the building that he no longer wished for us to operate in that location and we were to close immediatly, without notice. After trying to mediate with him, it was apparent that his mind was made up and he wanted The Poker Room gone.

In the last 3 months the building has went under a major transformation and he probably thought he can either rent the space or use the space to greater effect and money than what it was currently used for. It doesn't really surprise me in the last 20 months our rent has increased 3 times and our space has gradually been eaten away with electronic slots. At no time where the owners willing to give me a lease, stating that under the terms of their contract they weren't allowed to sub-lease any part of the building. So i always thought this was a possibility. (I am currently seeking legal advice with regards to tenancy rights that may or may not have been breached.) but its certainly fair to say that The Poker Room has closed for good in its current location in Tallaght.

I would like to sincerely thank the Staff for all their hard work and our regular customers that played with us week in and week out.

All business that is outstanding with the Poker Room will now be moved to our new premises in Celbridge (that has a lease.)

As far as the remaining customer business with Tallaght:

For the €230 collected on Sunday for the new cash league, If you played in Tallaght at all last Sunday either at the cash table or in the cash league final
I will be willing to give you €25 in cash chips to use in Celbridge. We have a list of who played so no sneeky business :) so just turn up in Celbridge and talk to the manager on duty and receive your free €25 in chips.

All V.I.P's will still get the free €250 tournament buy-in to an upcoming event and all V.I.P benefits will transfer to the Celbridge club.

If you have Bruce Poker League points, we will transfer them over to one of qualifying tournaments of your choice in Celbridge and we will also add an additional €100 to the prize pools to those Tournaments this week, thats the Friday day time Tourny and the Saturday night Tourny.

It is sad for me personally, as i think it was a great club in Tallaght with some fantastic memories. I have met some fantastic people in the last two years at that club.

We are currently looking for new locations and will let you know if and when we have something to announce.

Once again thanks for your custom and please come visit us in the Poker Room Celbridge its only 25 minutes drive from Tallaght.

If you have questions please direct them to myself,

    Thanks
    Ross 086-2301229.
