We want to get those functionalities to you as soon as we possibly can. The assumptions surrounding tethering and VV are incorrect but this is down to us not being able to provide the information you want as well as you trying to come up with a an explanation why we don't have it due to the lack of this information.

Unfortunately before the release of 3.0 I was lead to believe that tethering would be following shortly as soon as the network was ready to Apples standard. This of course was wrong and it will not be available for a time yet with the possibility of it being released as late as Q1 of next year as Rod has stated. As for Visual Voicemail for those of you new to this topic the reason for the extent of the wait was due to the fact that the investment in the visual voicemail platform is significant and it will be reviewed soon.

As for O2 losing exclusivity, I cannot comment on this yet as I have not gotten word on what our position is yet. Whether we lose exclusivity or not our decision will not be impacted.

Can anyone explain the section in bold? I understand this is a bit like the Top Gun line "I Could Tell You, but Then I’d Have to Kill You" but come on, this will only lead to more assumptions.

Can we have a competition for the funniest guess? Maybe Vodafone could sponsor an iPhone 4G when its out!

Ridiculous, not up to Apple's standards? What about your customers?

Typed on an Edge connection tethered to my laptop.

They are either hiding or stonewalling, probably it is that they want to fleece us out of our 1GB allowance. If they've a routing problem doing MMS, Voicemail and Tethering (tethering by far being the most important, not really too pushed about the other two), either it means they've bad head-end equipment, bad in-house software or bad employees with a bad skillset. Then throw in bad management on top of that. Very disappointed, and they could at least have optionally made MMS unavailable for those of us who want tethering instead.
