Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/advice for a ski trip over Christmas leaving Cork for a week.

Looked at the usual travel agent packages; topflight and what not:they seem to be pretty much just flyin to Austria and charging €1000 per person (once you include transfers and rental and blah blah blah).

So is there anywhere thats relatively easy and cheap to get to from Cork?

Aer Lingus to Geneva and then take you pick of the best that France or Switzerland has to offer. Great deals dealing direct with hotles and gueshouses at the moment.

    Sass Fee, Verbier, Zermatt

    Chamonix, Flaine, Courcheval

Or alternativly head to Munich and Austria

St Anton, Lech, Mayrhofen, Saalbach, Isghel

Groovey, I'll check that out. By the way my girlfriend will be wanting to get lessons, are they easy enough to organise yourself in advance?

Also had seen some quite cheap flights to Poland, anyone any experience skiing there?

Psydeshow If you are goign to resort x just bang in the resort and ski schools into google and it is just a matter of emailing them and booking in advance. Same with the hire shops (It will probably work out cheaper than booking both with a TO)

Irish race squad where out in Poland last year and got great snow, not for racing but for everyone else :). Resorts tend to be small with older lifts but it could be an adventure.

Not sure if it is your first time but just be aware that daylight hours are at there shortest during this timeso you may not get a whole lot of skiing done.

Cool, hadn't thought about the daylight hours thing actually. I've been out a few times before but much later in the season. Ah well sure, if nothing else I'll get more skiing done than I would in Cork.

Nice one for the advice lads.
