I have one of these cards and it has more than paid for itself in just a couple of months.

Some places allow you to use it more than once and others dont. It has a section on the back where the restaurant mark the card when it has been used. Cafe Mao seem to be the strictest they do not allow you to use it unless you mention it when booking a table. You cant just arrive at lunch time or in the evening and tell them you wish to use it. You must mention that you wish to use the card when booking the restaurant. Maybe the manager in Mao was just being a d1ck! , he said he was just following the rules.
Some places allow you to get the starters included also , again this appears to be at the discretion of the restaurant.

The bottom line is that if there is a few places listed that you like or would like to try , for €50 it will pay for itself if used two or three times within the year.

The FAQ doesnt make it clear how the card works... doesnt say you can only use it once per restaurant, doesnt say that its on the mains only, the whole thing looks badly arranged.

For 17.50 it could even pay for itself in one meal!

Its at the discretion of the restaurant if you can use it there more than once , I contacted them (hi-life.co.uk) before I bought the card and they said some places only allow usage once and others allow you to use it many times.I have used it in one place that didnt mark the card. So its a case of waiting to see if they have marked the card when they return it to you. Even if you can only use it once in any place it is pretty easy to get the cost of the card back. Take it as a bonus if you get the free starter included

How much do you have to spend in Tesco to get €17.50 in Club vouchers though, you are not really getting the card for €17.50

€1,750 spent in Tesco = €17.50 in points.

You can clock up points faster though if you use a Tesco credit card or any of their other financial products.

Very true, but those vouchers will get you 17.50 worth of stuff in tescos. Obviously it's not worth going out of your way to shop in tescos just to get the vouchers, but if you shop there anyway and end up with piles of the damn things (as I do) it can work out a right bargain.

I signed up two months ago and have still not gotten a membership card from them
Have just e-mail them now (I forgot all about it)

Hopefully the card just got lost in the post and they will issue (and back date) me a new one)

If you get 3 copies of the Daily mail this week-you can send in the tokens and get the hi-life card to try for 2 months.
Tokens run from last Sat to Fri (I think).
Not a bad way of trying it out and seeing if its for you
