In 2007 I was on JSA/Dole for about 6 months, then I was working and my tax credits for working amount to 27 for that year
    - does this mean i will not qualify for JSA now when I apply? or does the time you are on the dole get you some kind of credits too?

Were you on JSB or JSA?

JSB is not means tested and depends on your credits. While signing you have unpaid contributions to PRSI. You need a minimum of 39 PRSI contributions in the relevant tax year (2007), and a minimum of 13 must be paid. You should be alright since you have 27 paid contributions.

As far as I now you will only be entitled to credits if you have paid contributions/stamps first, as you can't enter insurance on credits. You can order a copy of your social insurance record on www.welfare.ie, alternatively, you could just call into your local social welfare office and ask there.
