I quit my job and became voluntarily unemployed. Now before you start whining let me just say I do not take any government handouts of any kind :D

Not working is great, sitting home all day surfing the internet and doing stuff I like. Is it just me who enjoys being unemployed?

You can do stuff you never thought possible, like grow a mustache and wear tracksuits in public!

After doing that all Summer long waiting for college to start, I can only imagine that long term unemployment is one of the most depressing, life sapping experiences anyone can have.

They asked me to quit my job and return home to them, they had been saying that to me for a year. So in the end they got what they wanted. I will be able to pull pickup lines like never before

"Hey babe, I'm unemployed and live with my parents... wanna come home and meet the parents"

Being unemployed is fine, it's not having the money to do what you want that sucks.. and the boredom!

I hear ya. I was in the exact same boat. However, it still fails to motivate me to succeed in this world. Long term unemployment? Hmm... with the right friends... perhaps it wouldnt be that bad after all :)

To the dole office next June!

Yeah? How long will that last then? Intend on having children, getting them educated?

    OP, get a hobby

You can't have been unemployed very long. There's a 'honeymoon period', and then the inevitable depression sets in when you realise all your mates are at work while you're sat at home watching Jeremy Kyle.

If you don't have friends then you do not need to care :D
If I get desperate I can always get a job when I feel like it.

You will get sick of it. Give it 2 weeks, maybe a month, and you'll come crawling back to work.

    Jeremy Kyle.

Seriously that name should be eliminated from After Hours or at least put "That tool" before you speak it's name.

OP, not everyone is lucky enough to be happy about being out of work.
It's a bit much throwing it in peoples faces tbh.

Everytime someone says they enjoy being unemployed it always reminds me of the Coronas-San Diego

We sleep all day and we drink all night
We are not wasting our time
We refuse to hide, we're going out tonight

Single in San Diego - 6 weeks just wasting time.
I moved back with my ma and left it all behind
So what's wrong with this life you say it's not enough,
What does it feel like? You think you're better than us.

I think I have found a glitch in The Matrix.
If you do not by fancy clothes, cars and don't put yourself into mortgages and credit card debts you are free. I can let others participate in the rat race and get headaches over their mortgages and credit card bills.

It is. I really wish I had a job or was in college doing something I like (I left college because I didn't like the course).
