So his drive through is announced then almost immediately (seconds later) dumba$$ sutil brings out the SC and sounds the death nail foir |Rosberg's race.
did r|OSBERG not have time to get in before the safety car..or did he actually elect to stay out  silly boy

lots of cars (Alonso, button et all) managed to cheat the Safety Car, how did Rosberg get it so wrong?

He was unlucky with the timing of the safety car but he wasn't hard done by.

Hard done by? No. Unlucky? Yes. Rules are rules unfortunately for him.

Felt Webber was hard done by with having to leave Glock and Alonso through after he went wide - Kimi got no penalty when he did it at Spa so think that was unfair.

You can't serve a penalty under SC conditions so he had to wait until after that before doing the drive through.

How did Alonso, Button etc "cheat the Safety Car"?

I know I meant if he came in immediately after the crash but before the safety car was announced (the way Alonso Button ect 'cheated' the safety car...should have read anticipated :) )

From what I have read today he didn't have time to react and do the drive through before the safety car was called. As for Alonso, Button etc - they were making pit stops under the SC which made sense for them.

I think it was a little harsh as it prob cost him more time than gaining time. He made an effort to go back over the line. Suppose its more a safety issue than a time one though.

i dont feel he was hard done by by the stewards, he did go over the white line(although did try to correct it) but like said above he was just sooooooo unlucky when that ol' safety car came out.! i was really looking forward to a tussle between him and Lewis, but not today sadly

    Not harsh, rules is rules.

Thats just the way it goes, bad mistake from him trying to gain a tiny bit of time. Cost him 10+ places

He had a brain-fart, went over the line, rules-is-rules...

BTW does anyone else notice the praise Brundle has been heaping on Rosberg lately. He seems to really rate him. Personally I can't see what the fuss is about. He does seem to go v well at tghis track though...

He is a solid driver in fairness, he's dragged points out of a fairly crap Williams pretty much all season...

As we've discussed on other threads compare him to his teammate. Plus he pushed Hamilton in lower classes.

Rosberg's been right up there all season, he's been cool, calm, professional with the media, and above all consistant. That's the ultimate mark of a great driver, and that's why he's well rated. It's also why Button's not guaranteed a place next year.

This is the same Rosberg who was destroyed by Webber? Granted he was a rookie but compare to Vettel or Hamilton's first seasons. Seems a nice guy and obviously intelligent but i'm not that convinced so far...

Also re the team-mate comparison - Nakijima is hardly world class...

Alonso describes himself as "not the quickest, but consistant", that's what wins you championships. It's why Ferrari are getting shot of Raikkonen. Webber's beaten all his teammates, including Coulthard, but that doesn't meant that said teammates are all useless. And I think it's fair to give a driver in his rookie season a pass, they're never going to be perfect.

Hamilton and Vettel had excellent rookie seasons no doubt, whatever you want to call it, beginners luck or maybe they just took to F1 quicker than Rosberg did. If he's in a McLaren or Brawn for 2010 though, odds on for a race win or two at the very least.
