Hi, I've seen indoor amplified aerials for sale. They say they are for digital freeview. Does this mean they pick up digital channels or do they just enhanse the channels you already have.
I only have the irish channels so was wondering if one of these aerials would pick up any extra channels?
    Thanks.

Freeview is only for the Uk...I have seen the aerials ur referring to on sale and they are a complete waste of time for anything unless you are sitting next to one of the many transmitters around the country.

I agree most of the TV top/Rabbit Ears Aerials that I have seen are pointless, eventually RTE NL's DTT aims to be receiveable via as small an aerial as possible on a stb if it can.
I use a wideband loft antenna and it works great for me, and it gets 3rock grand.

if you fancy making your own DTT aerials youtube has some ideas
