We have to write a short essay about the plot of a film we watched in school, and I'm not quite sure how to start. I know there's the introduction, etc. but would anyone be kind enough to offer advice, like, say, what are the main points I should delve into and definitely should not miss? I'm kind of afraid that I might go off on a tangent.

Presume your teacher just wants you to summarise the film and give your opinion on it, like a review. Pretty pointless exercise imo, if you were just told to write a short essay about the film, with no focus.
