Hi MercMad

As promised, see how many do you recognise, they are various different models but i was never up on which W code related to which car, i know them as Ponton, Fintail, Pagoda etc etc

Anyway just a handful in no particular order, i've pics of all these

CZJ 230...I remember this Dublin reg, but cant recall the car,Red Fintail, perhaps one I saw in South Dublin ........20 years ago ?
XZU 388.... I think this W108 was on of MDL's cars when new.Onlysaw it once.

Sorry, I can recall some Dublin numbers but didn't travel to shows or do much travelling in other Counties 'till about '95.

Please put up the pictures I'd love to see them, there aren't many Irish reg Mercs out and about any more.

The 230.4 was introduced in 1973 to replace the 220 4 cylinder, but Mercedes already had a 230 in the range, a 6 cylinder so the rebadged them 230.4 and 230.6, I've only ever seen one badged as 230.6 in this country, over 20 years ago!

I had a good root around 57 NYI, the BW W116, a few years ago when I met up with a previous owner. Was in better nick then.

I have a couple of original Irish Mercs: w123 and a C107... actually it's listed on the John Larkin list. How'd the cars get on that list? Just seen out and about?

I used to see CIE 180 which was a Ponton and was a daily driver up to around 1995. Weren't a lot of W115s used by politicians and the government?
