    Folks
If importing a car from UK do you have to have the V5 form to import the car as you bring it into the country?
One of the cars I am looking at has the car on a personal plate, the car has been changed over but it going to be up to 2 weeks to get the V5.
The seller will send it onto me when they get it, the concern I have is been stopped by customs at the port and not having it.

I will have to leave the car sitting up until I get it but thats not a problem.

Is it ok to import with it

    Thanks

You will have no problem importing it, however you will not be able to pay VRT and register the car until you get it and so if stopped by customs they can seize the car. You will be fine when driving it home but I wouldn't drive it around afterwards until the V5 comes through. Make sure you are 100% sure of the owner of the car being legit, personally I wouldn't touch a car with no V5 present on day of sale.
