Check you ignition system - coils, leads, plugs etc. If it's not firing properly it'll chug and you'll get unburnt petrol comng out of the exhaust.

Just had the coil pack changed no more than a month ago so i hope its not that again but last time when it was coil pack there was no smell of petrol i hope its the spark plugs or something small like that , its like as if there is not enough petrol getting through like a blockage of some sort

Check your spark plug wells, one or more may be full of water and affecting the ignition. I think this is a known issue with the Focus. happened to one that we owned and resulted in lumpy running etc.

Might also be a faulty coil/coil pack.

Oh and if it only does it when the engine is cold and run fine when the engine is warmed up - then it could be a faulty temp sensor for the ECU.

BrianD3 is right, there is a known issue with water dripping onto the HT leads. I think the source is the windscreen washer hose on the passenger side. It could also be an incorrectly fitted pollen filter, but check the washer hose first as it's the easiest to tackle.

No worries. That's a great way to unblock your water jets, I never taught of it. :D
