To sell it to the public, you'll require a game dealer's licence. This is free and can be applied for from NPWS. Not sure what it entails beyond that. If you want, you can also sell it to a game dealer.

    kinda right .
with a wild life dealers licence you can sell a animal ,not parts of a butchered animal. ie prossesed.

Oh, that is interesting. I did not know that. How far does it go? Can it be skinned, with head and feet removed, and hung?

i`d say next step would be open a butcher shop lol , i think when your shooting for sale it takes the sport out of it

not shooting for profit just thinkin that if i have all his extra meat i might as well see if theres a few people out there who would buy some, and anyway its not like im out there killing left and right, i would rather sell off the extra i have instead of letting it go to waste just because its 'sporting', in this wonderful recession we have to do what ever we can to keep food coming in and paying the bills,

well thanks for all the help everyone, still a bit confused, it will take a while to do any research as my internet is so slow, i just hope there is a way that i could sell my surplus meat,

If you can't give it away or use it yourself, why shoot it ?

Selling it, no matter what the motivation, is not sporting shooting IMO

I only shoot what I will personally use or what I can give to someone for free. A few lads I give meat to have free range chickens and bees so a swap is a fare exchange ;)

Recession or no recession I shoot for sport not for money.

As an aside a lot of the insurance policies are deemed revoked if you are charging for shooting vermin etc and/or possibly selling meat etc.

im only asking out of curiosity so there no need to go preaching, i do shoot what i need or if my friends want some meat i might shoot an extra deer, i dont charge them for it, but sometimes after the kill has been made they change there mind and im left with meat that will go to waste, so i was just wondering what the laws were coz i dont want to go breaking it and loosing my license, just a thought, im a little sorry i asked now, lol, but i did find that the form that was mentioned earlier is the way to go, then i can sell if i want and i know i licensed butcher who would be willing to help me if i do get the license and have surplus deer, thanks for all the help and imput, im a happy girl now, lol

to process a animal for sale you have to have a certified facility, proper cool rooms ,separate butchering area, waist tanks etc.

this area is very strict , so much so butchers shops had to stop buying there own animals and buy in vac packed meat.

the wild life dealers licence only covers one small part of selling game ready for tha table.

"A wildlife Dealer is in the business of buying for resale any wild birds or wild animals , alive or dead, or any parts, products or derivatives of those species, it includes taxidermy"

excerpt from A practical guide to the wildlife Acts, by Des Crofton.:)
best I can do for you pinky fluff:D

funnily enough.. i can supply me mate (a butcher in his own butchers shop) as many bunny... skinned/cleaned or "packin" as he wants, he was up for it a while ago but then the hse etc got onto him and he reckons its not worth the expense going for the game dealers licence... pity!
