I try to be as inventive as possible when blogging.

Are there many writers here who blog and try out new ideas to share? I would enjoy reading them, if so.

I've been keeping a blog for the past year, but I don't update it very regularly. Think I have 17/18 entries from different occasions over the last 12 months.

As for being creative, I'm not so sure. I usually spend about two hours drafting any serious entries, searching for the exact right word in each sentence/context. Most of my writing would be intensely personal, which is risky enough but has led to high praise from the few people I know who read it.

It depends uon what its about, doesn't it? I use mine purely to experiment and fool around so I can be as creative as I want, but if your blog is set up to document the arrival of your child's new teeth then you're kind of limited.

I think all people interested in writing should maintain a space in cyberspace with no particular theme or pressure to inform and conform. It's fun to stumble across random blogs like that.

my blog is in its infant stages still, but I like to blend personalised opinion pieces with some of my own fiction whenever the damn hell I feel like it.

It could be useful if fellow bloggers could post some links to their favourite blog posts. I started blogging because I could not make head or tail of computing and I decided to document new findings as I went along. A long detour into photography means that I'm now more focused in the links between words and images and hope to explore this more for the next year.

The Photography Forum has some very helpful threads where posters share their ideas and explain their work. This thread on Street Photography might interest readers here.

We all walk in streets and many people document that public world in writing and in imagery.

There are many Irish bloggers who are gradually finding one another's work.
I have been posting to Techfocus the Lounge for several years and there is a move afoot to invite new posters:

Several of the regular contributors are published authors and it might be worth keeping in touch.

I mostly use blogging for sharing photos, but over time I have made very friendly contacts with academics in particular. Blogging is being studied in universities and in time the findings should be of interest.

I'm having good fun writing posts for this blog and trying to get people to visit it. The writing is the easy part. Take a look and see what you think. All comments would be appreciated. http://pebbles09.blogspot.com/

Book reviews are a personal favourite:

The new books on sale for the Christmas season should give us all plenty to blog about.
