Firstly, this is not the place for this, the correct approach would be to contact the IAA directly if you have a problem with something posted on their website.

Secondly, that was posted in response to questions raised by IASRA members and given to the IAA to answer. Perhaps you should be asking IASRA why they felt the need to make a special case of you and why your name was published by them without your consent.

    Hi Simon,

I'm sorry you feel this way. We honestly did try our best to mediate with TA events so you could make it to the event. In the end it didn't happen, and I'm still annoyed over it myself.

Just on a point of fact, Stephen knew about the situation long before the event. I have emails from him about it on February 21st (6 weeks before the event). He was in contact with Ian from ta-events well before that.

When I spoke to you on the phone, I advised you to try other avenues apart from legal threats -- we contacted Ian and made him aware of the situation, that you were a well-respected airsofter and member of the community.

We also didn't 'back up' TA events' insurers. At no point did we say we agreed with their policies, and a lot of our work was with ta-events to see if they could do anything insurance-wise.

On the committee position -- myself and yourself were working together on a brief and a description of the welfare/equality officer position, which fell by the wayside a while back. After PR3 you didn't contact me again about it. I'm sorry I wasn't diligent enough about contacting you and continuing with the process. I don't think it could be described as 'stabbing you in the back', though.

I also don't appreciate the thinly-veiled legal threat, I'm afraid. If the IAA or myself can be accused of wrongdoing, please let us know how we've done so.

    Dave
    IAA Vice-Chair

    I do not understand this.

IASRA put forward a document outlining the problems they had with the IAA. This was inevitably going to be posted on the IAA forum, as are any documents that us members should be made of aware of. I would be greatly angered should another organisation create a document of " IAA Failings" and the IAA fail to put that document to light, since it might A) Reflect a load of ****e or B) Have some underlying tones that I might agree with.

You seem pretty quick of the gun with legal threats, over simply using your name?? Thats getting a bit picky.

Also I do not think your seeing the whole story, and being biased. As you are fully aware we had a chat too, and I was receiving a number of e-mails and phone calls from TA Events in relation to the situation as they felt I was in charge of the irish platoon....so if you want I can throw in my two cents worth, but I wont, cause god forbid you might take me to court.

I think you need to take a step back man and realise that the document sent to the IAA by IASRA was going to be published, obviously. There might even be a requirement by the IAA to show this to their members possibly.

And for a document that essentially slams the IAA, their work, individuals and past workings, I find it a bit rosey that for your name being mentioned once, your having a go.

Like I said I was contacted by TA events on numerous occasions about the situation, which in turn led me in contact with the lads in the IAA to find out what the story was, and in my eyes they were doing their best, and as usual Steve Fay stayed up lengthy hours and ran up a huge bill trying to help you out.

I'm not going to lie, the more I read your post mate, I get rightly pissed off. I'm off to play footie, I'll see should anything further develop and what happens, but your ****ing right bang out of order with your biased slant on things.
