I recently purchased a 2nd hand Panasonic Freeview HDD recorder from Northern Ireland. I have figured out how to record from my satellite receiver but cannotrecord RTE terrestrial. The manual says it does not have an Analoguie Tuner, however when I received the unit and immediately tested the harrd drive, RTE 1 was there but in my ignorange and attempte to retune everything I must have deleted it, has anyone any ideas on how I could recover this channel ? Thanks, Arthur

    Freeview broadcast in MPEG2.

    RTE broadcast in MPEG4 SD.

The panasonic (a DMR-EX77 perhaps ?) cannot decode MPEG4 transmissions. Whilst it may list it (it normally wont) you will get sound and no picture.

Incompatiable for Irish DTT (which is what you may have picked up initially- certainly not analogue).

Seemingly the latests Panasonics (UK models) dont have analouge tuners (a bit of apremature move by Panasonic if you ask me since analouge is still handy for RTE's RSL's etc)

The time it picked up RTE1 may have been during RTE's own digital tests (was there an actual picture)

Does it get TV3 or TG4
