Rover V8, question ? How much oil?

hey guys just serviceing a rover V8 project that me and my bro are working on the only probelm is we dont know how much oil....
It does have a oil cooler.

and Ive read 10 to 11 pints but thats for a 3.6 which is close to 5 and half liters can any one tell me how much for a 3.9 ? or is it the same ?

Can you not put in litre by litre and monitor the dipstick till it bang on??
