im currently renovating an at least 200 years old house, its a beautiful place and its like a hobby renovating it, im not going to live in it but have it more as an extra house for family and friends who stay but i also intend to spend quite some time there too, any way i looked into the history of this house and found that a couple of gruesome deaths occured in this place, and im sure many people died of natural causes too in its 200 years but ive never stood in this place at night or alone and i own it two years i just wonder with its sad past will things be okay there i do get the feeling that i wouldnt like to be there alone but i put it down to the surroundings < dark dingy needs alot of work> any opinions?

A house is just a house and nothing in it can harm you. (apart from rotten floorboards or damp!) The only thing to fear is fear itself, etc. :) Even if you do get the heebiejeebies from it, I promise you, thats the worst any place can do to you, make you feel odd. :) If you want to make it feel better, make it bright, airy, lived in, and filled with music. Any odd feelings wont last long in such an atmosphere. The best thing you can do is bring life back into the place.

Think about it, every single place thats ever had people in it will carry a history of illness, pain, arguments and possibly even the odd death. We go through our lives unaffected by it all. So dont stress. :D
