I'm looking for some software that will allow a PC to be rebooted to a windows image.

What I mean is that changes made (by installing or whatever) are lost once the PC is restarted, I'm not interested in reimaging products like ghost.

    thanks in advance. :)

Virtual Machine from VMware is close. It's a full install of Windows on a file on your computer. If it gets corrupted etc you can just delete file.

Or use the restore point feature?

Or use a guest account with hardly any privileges at all.

Thanks for this .. not really what I'm looking for

The PC will be left in an unmonitored remote location, so if the users screw the internet connection I wont be able to use logmein or other to fix. The restore point feature although usefull is not as easy as saying "restart the PC please!" and may not recover from a bad virus infection or such.

They do however need to be able to install and configure software, so guest account is out.

In essense I want them to be able to do what they like and then when the PC is restarted it goes back to where it was before they "entered the building"

VMs wont stop the host being altered.

    thanks again
