Old House Repair Quote

Hi, I'm getting an old cottage repaired and have received a quote of 7000 euro for materials and labour. The gable and chimney of the house are tilting over and will need to be knocked down and rebuilt along with a fireplace and some plumbing (laying 20ft of water pipe and connecting tap) and electrical (repairing fuse box and wiring some sockets and lights). I have no experience of building and am wondering if this quote is too much?

    Thanks,
    Tom

No, the quote is light if you ask me.

Lets take the cottage gable as being 5.5m wide, 4.4m to the eaves, 38ish degrees pitch including a chimney.

To remove the old, support the remaining roof etc., dig and pour new foundations, rising walls, dpc's, insulated cavity wall and chimney breast, plaster and skim the wall, make good side wall connections, roof overhang, line flash cap and pot the chimney, make good the floor connections.

I think that's a very good quote as I can see the materials coming to €4,500.
