    Hi all

    a busy afternoon at Leuchars,
    incident no1
this afternoon between 3 and 4 pm an ATR 42 or 72 from Dundee airport landed with serious problems, the aircraft had just been serviced there and had been picked up by 2 russian pilots, whats bizarre about it is that the crew thought that they were diverting into Aberdeen airport, lol
obviously the workload in the time of emergancy misled them..... engineers from dundee have checked the aircraft and have declared both engines a right off!!! no lube in them in any way shape or form.

    Incident no 2

this early evening a tornado GR4 ZA446 declared an emergancy, an inflight fire on fuselage and right hand engine, it landed at Leuchars where after some serious braking, the plane was stopped and the fire crews took the best part of 5 minutes to put out a serious fire, my friend was part of the recovery team that had to carry out wheel and brake unit changes before it could be removed from the runway, he says the aircraft is badly damadged, i have seen the jet myself, what a sorry state it looks....
i dare say a well done to the crew for getting it down is in order!!!!
hopefully i will get some pics taken tom before its tucked away for a wee while....

    cheers
