I am heading south tomorrow from Kinavara to the Shannon ferry via Cliffs of Moher- does anyone have an opinion as to whether to go around coast through Fanore or inland via Lisdoonvarna. Which is more attractive?

I was going to suggest this on your earlier post re Kilorglin but now that you ask. I would go by the coast from ballyvaughan, fanore, doolin, liscannor, lahinch, etc. It is much more scenic in my opinion as you get to appreciate the vastness and scale of the Burren much more so than going via corkscrew and lisdoonvarna. The corkscrew is nothing special if you have already done the first five switchbacks of Alp duez. If you havent been along the above route I would suggest it is too good to miss, but hope you get the weather as it can be as miseable as kippure on a bad day. Enjoy.

    I would echo Victor.
Ballyvaughan, Fanore Doolin the way to go.
Stunning rolling roads with the coast nearly always in view.
    Enjoy, I am so jealous.

Definitely go the coast road from Ballyvaughan to Fanore. It's beautiful around there. I head down there on hols about 3 times a year, even got married in Ballyvaughan a couple of years ago, we like the place that much.

    Enjoy!!
