Christmas week destinations...

...the obvious one is New York, but wife reckons she'd have to spend most of it with cousins there.

So guess really looking at Europe. Anything else really worth going to? I'd like to go to Rome but not sure it would be the most 'Christmassy' place. Maybe Paris but been there lots of times. The skiing areas probably would be nice but prob pricey at that time too. Have done the Edinburgh Hogmanay thing. Any suggestions

Brussels is nice around Christmas. Was there for a week around new years eve a few years ago and the place looked great. Nice feel to it.

Christmas Markets in any town/ city in Germany. I am going this year for the 4th year on the trot (To a different place each time). There is a real christmas atmosphere at these.

    Thanks for suggestions.

Yeah, someone suggested Dresden already, but wouldn't have thought there'd be enough there to last a few days/week.
