The PS3 299 Pricetag, did it influence you?

So basically i just noticed some new users on this forum and i thought to myself that the price reduction must have swung some of the people on the bench, so i just wanted to create this little poll.

It wasnt the 299 price tag but the Gamestop 30 euro trade in deal that got my interest. Picked it up for around 100ish euro. I couldn't turn it down and its still sitting in its box i havent even opened it :eek:

I have to sneak it into the bedroom when the missus isnt looking thats where my 1080p tv is.

Ditto. It ended up only costing me €44.50 as I had some of the games already and I traded in other games I didn't want for the rest in Smyths. Deal of the century as far as I'm concerned:)

I had always wanted a PS3 but I just couldn't justify the massive initial cost. I'm delighted to have a PS3 though. It is a great bit of kit. Much better than my Xbox 360.

I can't pick one of the options because none of them fit.

Basically I was looking at the PS3 and its upcoming lineup ..Uncharted 2 especially, but there are some others in the coming months. Put those alongside LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted and Katamari and I was thinking the PS3 is starting to look good.
The price reduction on top of that was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. In itself it wouldn't have been enough if Uncharted 2 (and others I can't remember right now) wasn't coming soon. Not that I plan on buying any other games before December. No really!

It was mainly the gamestop offer that made me get one. Only cost me 100ish plus some embarrassment picking up Imagine Ballet Dance and Imagine Crack Whore.

But I picked the 3rd option.

Already had one, wouldn't have swayed me as the new one looks like pants IMO.

Given the option of the two, I'd splash out the extra money to get the fat one is what I meant.

I wouldn't not buy a console just because its ugly, I did own a Gamecube :P

My friend picked up a PS3 a week ago. He sold his Xbox 360 to pay for it. Although the €299 price helped, he said that it was uncharted 2 and god of war 3 that really influenced his decision.
