Anyone know where I can find a copy of Pure Dynamite? Don't have a credit card so online isn't really an option. I've checked the wrestling shop in Stephens Green and they said they will give me a shout when they get some in but that was a while ago and no word yet unfortunately. So anyone got any other ideas where I might find a copy? I check bookshops when I'm browsing but have yet to find a copy?

Or do any of you lot who have a copy fancy lending it to me? :P

I have a copy, and will post it to you if you wish as long as you post it back when you are done. Its a good read, but very badly written.

Giving my address out to someone on the internet, what could possibly go wrong?! :pac:

Seriously though, that would be awesome if you're serious dude! And I give you my word I will post it back to you when I'm done (mostly cos I don't want you showing up on my doorstep one day with a hurley to smash my knee-caps or something if I didn't :p)

If you do fancy buying it, instead of borrowing etc... or anyone else does.. Highspots have it on their e-bay store.

Is it worth reading or is it just the bitter ramblings of a mad man?

I don't see how the two are mutually exclusive. Deranged ramblings can be great.

Definitely worth reading. Its not brilliantly written but nor is it so badly written that it afects your enjoyment of it. Lots of great stories from Japan which are always nice to read.

Just finished reading this. I agree with the other people who said that it's not greatly written but it is definitely worth a read, very interesting stuff.

I was expecting it to be far more bitter than it is given the reputation of the author and Billingtons general attitude, but it is surprisingly humble in parts (don't get me wrong, it's arrogant as feck in others) and if he genuinely respects someone he makes a point of pointing it out and giving credit where he believes it is due. On the other hand, if he thinks someone is a prick he has no problem saying it (Brutus the Barber and Honly Tonk man both get a good bashing). Like flah said, the stories about his time in Japan are really good and he shows a massive repect for Japanese wrestling and wrestlers.

Good read, tragic of course but it does go into the reasons that wrestlers do roids and the likes and the vicious cycle of life as a pro-wrestler, life on the road, needing to work injured, etc.

Definitely worth a read if you can pick up a copy (or find someone cool enough to mail one to the other side of the country :D)
