TBH any hay decent bit of hardware with sufficient RAM and scratch space can handle that.

I'm not a Mac user so I can't advise on specs but if were a PC I'd with a Core 2 duo, around 3-4 GB of RAM and a graphics card like an 8800GT to get the most out of CS4 GPU features.
