Endodontist Treatment

I recently had a bit of an accident where my font theeth were moved quit dramtically. Luckilly enough I still have my braces in or I would probably have the lost 3 of my front 4 theath. My usual dentist in Galway refered me to an endodontist in salthill after a check up. The endodontist then handed me a treatment plan to the value for €2,600, which he insists is neccicary in oder to save my teeth. He promised me (in writing) that if the treatment was not sucessful that he would refund half the cost. He said that the previous root treatment I had done had not taken and would need to be redone. After ringing a few places in enniskillen I found that price for a root canal up there is aboput €220 per tooth while this endodotist is charging €600.
These places are dentist though and not endodontists. I'm worried that if I go to a dentist again that the treatment wouldnt be sucessful and would have to be redone or worse still loose my teeth.
Dose anyone know if specialist endodontic treatment is available at a cheaper price in northern Ireland or is it a private feild of work!?
Can anyone recomend an endodontist or dentist who could give me similar treatment to a good standard?
Any help would be much appriciated!

why don't you phone a few endodontists in the north and ask them? tell them which teeth are involved because prices vary depending on the tooth. Also, retreating a failed root canal is quite a different thing and is often more expensive. give all that info to the endodontist when you are asking for a quote so you will be comparing like with like.
(as it was an accident do you have any insurance cover that may help you?)

The chance of success with endodontic treatment is roughly 90%. If this then fails, the chance of success the second time round is roughly 60%. In my opinion, retreats are always best left to the experts, ie an endodontist.

Thaks guys! I'm afriad there is no one I can claim off excpet maybe the Cork Distilliries Company for not displaying adiquit warning on there bottles! I rang an endodontist in belfast yesterday. The secretery quoted me ~ £1,400. So I rang to try and book an apointment today and she told me that they were booked up untill november. She said that there was only 2 endodontist in town and that the other one would more then likly have a similiar waiting list. Dose anyone know of any endodontist in NI that they can recomend?

By the time you factor in travel and inconvenience, you might as well have this treatment done nearer to home. Plus, your original examining endodontist has offered you a guarantee of sorts which is rare in dentistry.

You could try Eoin Mullane in Clontarf, its always worthwhile getting a 2nd opinion, another endodontist might recommend no treatment whatsoever, this would save you everything but the consultation fee.
