I am trying to find flights home from Poitiers on Oct 26 but no joy, not looking for direct to Dublin as I know there are none , so through Stansted , Liverpool , Birmingham etc are the options but I keep drawing a blank so if anybody had any different ideas or suggetsions that would be a help. Could also depart from Nantes / La Rochelle or Tours but it has to be on the bank holiday due to work commitments and to travel home on the Sunday doesnt make it worth my while going as we are only departing Dublin on the friday.

Why not just get the train to Paris and fly out from there ?

There is a TGV station 11Kms from Poitiers which will take you direct to CDG airport.

Ryanair fry from Nantes & La Rochelle to Dublin.

Thanks Ponster , TGV station is right in Poitiers and it is looking like the only option, no Ryanair flights out of La Rochelle on Nantes on the monday, we would get the inbound Ryanair flight to Nantes on the friday if we go, I was just wondering if anybody knew of a way that I hadnt considered as its somewhere we travel to frequently and I am always looking for new options

Was there once and that was TGV. It goes right into Poitiers alright afair, though there may be a stop outside it for Futuroscope.

Cool. I didn't know that it stopped in the town as the last time I took it it was to go to Futuroscope.

I can't think of a better way to get home...

TGV station is deffo in central Poiters its an area I know fairly well, we have a place about 25k west of there, sister in law has travelled TGV from C.D.G in the past and swears by it as the way to go. I have'nt visited Futuroscope yet despite its proximity as my daughter is just a little too young to get the benefit i think so its on the list for next year, I would be interested to hear thought and opinions on it though.

Was there on 10th September 2001 so not sure what it's like now and whether it's dated or improved again - remember the date as it was the day before you know what.

Anyway, though I was DYING with a hangover, I loved it. Not very busy when we were there, but very different to the usual theme park stuff. Think all the rides were virtual reality ones, with very little actual moving involved. But well worth seeing. Lots of multimedia stuff. And good value.
