The yellow card which was handed out to Connacht number 8 Mike McComish in their opening game of the Magners League against the Ospreys has been rescinded.

The yellow card was issued to Mike McComish after 54 minutes of their opening night clash against the Ospreys at the Sportsground. Referee Graham Knox ruled that the Ireland Sevens-capped player had infringed at a ruck from an offside position and sent him to the sin-bin, a decision which drew boos from the home crowd.

The Ospreys scored 10 points while McComish was in the sin-bin - Frank Murphy joined him four minutes later - and secured a 19-12 win in the end.
However, Connacht's appeal against McComish's sin-binning has been successful and the Magners League have confirmed that the yellow card had now been rescinded.

Surely a rematch is the only fair and just outcome in light of this?

edit *just realised I'm being hopelessly naive with that suggestion *

Never going to happen toomevara, but at least if he gets a couple more cards later in the season he won't be unjustly suspended. Tbh, the standard of refereeing in the ML is a joke, and I've lost count of the number of awful decisions I've seen at the Sportsground. That ref should be sent back to do touch judge at under-8 games for a while, he might learn something from the refs there.
