Illegal Dumping

I have a yard near Mt Joy Square which attracts a lot of illegal dumping. We got a trampoline (huge thing with about 20 iron stands) a few weeks back, the back door to a hiace van etc etc..

I have spent a lot of money clearing out other people's junk and yesterday I found a huge roll (4 metre long cylindar) made of thick cardboard. It looks like it held a roll of paper or something and is very heavy (I can just about lift it). Anyway, the invoice from a company in the UK was still taped to the side of it. It has an order number and a few other numbers attached to it. The recipients details were however ripped off.

Will the guards look into this or am I on my own because it is private property? Also, will the company in the UK give me the number (or name) of the recipient of the invoice? Would that be enough to charge them? If not would it be illegal to somehow acquire the recipients name and address by ringing the company in UK and telling a few white lies? If I managed to get the address what would be my best course of action?

And lastly, if I installed a camera and caught someone on tape is it easy enough to prosecute with just the video evidence?

The guards wont give a damn.

Call the local council and get the number for the local litter warden.

Thanks Caoimhín, the litter warden for the area is due to give me a shout back. I was surprised at how seriously DCC took it.

The Environmental section of your council would be interested in that. Their inspectors and wardens can often extract evidence of origin of the material following a detailed search of same.
