Half Marathon - Walk/Run

Been out of action since the Frank Duffy with shin splints. Went out last night on advice from physio for the first time (although have been cycling 16 miles per day, and done a fair bit of swimming). Did 30 mins, run for 5, then walk for 5, repeat 3 times. Felt good after it. Gonna try for an hour tonight, maybe do 6/4 or 7/3 intervals.
Signed up for the race series, so would hate to miss the half on Saturday. Was thinking of keeping up with the walk/run method for Saturday, see how the leg holds up.
Do people do a walk/run half marathon, or will I just be in the way of others who will be running the whole distance?
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers

I was injured two years ago and limped my way around the half marathon in 2:20.

As long as you tuck in at the back then you should be fine. I wasn't exactly on my own finishing at 2:20 either.

I wouldn't think you'd be in the way at all, in my opinion. There will be some people who'll be walking the whole way. I'm planning to do a similar walk/run idea as yourself, as theres no way in the world I'd be able to finish otherwise.

From my experience at the other race series events the back of the pack is very thinned out with plenty of space around you, and I'd imagine with the wave starts this will be even more so on Saturday.

Best of luck and hope your leg holds up.
