ANPR cameras fitted into "smart" advertising bilboards.

24-09-2009 8:53am#1A advertisement company in the UK has come up with the idea of installing ANPR CCTV into digital billboards so that they can build up a profile from the type of car and desplay a corresponding add.
If it is a Honda Civic or twin cam it will show up an advertisement associated with a prat.
Jokes aside, I would consider this technology both intrusive and a distraction to drivers

surveillance society is probably a more apt description.
I don't think it is a silly question at all. I think there's a world of difference between personalised adverts from a commercial organisation and hidden speed / motor tax cameras used by the police.
