Hey I am 18 and have been out of school for one year. Iv been currently receiving unemployment benefit for around 7 months.

I went in to my local fas office the other day to ask could i do a course i had seen on their website. The girl told with with every course i'd be looking at 6-12 months waiting list. So i put my name down for the course anyway. she started to talk about Plc courses and evening courses and fetac awards none of which i really understand.

I looking to do a course in the engineering sector maybe civil or be a welder or somthing like that i think il know when i see the course.

But i dont know how to go about do a course.. Where can i do it..Is it too late? Where can i find a list..Is there grants and can i still keep my U/b(ideally this is what i want to keep as i have a car to run etc)

If anyone could give me some advice i would be very greatful

    Thanks Liam
