Help with O2 connection

Hi, I recently signed up to O2's €9.99 per month offer. However, once I started using the device I soon discovered a weird phenomenon occurring where pages would fail to load at random (google, bbc, etc) and chat clients would stop send/receiving. Looking at the client, the signal appeared to be full and I was still connected, but the upload/download displayed zero KB/sec.

So, I get onto O2 and I upgraded the firmware and all that. No change. They sent me out a new modem (which they tested) and still the same problem. I checked for viruses and have none. I have done nothing to alter the network settings of my pc.

Anyway, O2 are washing their hands of it, as far as they see it the modem works and I am in a good area for signal, so it must be my computer. I went to the Huawei website and downloaded their own firmware for my device (E170), still the same.

So, what do you guys think? Any ideas?

Anything like this guy's problem? I'd say you're on your own with it too. O2 don't seem to know or care, and there doesn't seem to be any reason why this would happen.
