How do you disable it?

I dont have a plan as i was given the iPhone by my brother and just popped my o2 sim in, how much should it charge me?

o2 charge 99c for 50mb per day and 2 c per kb after that. u can get a montly plan but rates on them are not great. you can turn off edge with a jail broken iPhone not sure if it can be done on standard iPhone.
