I posted about this a few weeks back, when it was launched, but my post was deleted.

Its in a startup phase just yet, but I don't think its any harm having a board purely for golfers, it can be quite hard to find boards in the Boards.ie portfolio, and I would expect this site to build up pretty quickly.

I've looked at the site and it seems decent to me at any rate.

I'm a member of boards and golftalk... TBH I am using golftalk.ie as it was started by a guy i know...so i gotta support it... its dedicated to golf and i can find stuff straight away so its perfect... also it looks nice :)

I use some of the other forums on boards though for sure..

I haven't posted in the golf forums here really and am only posting now cause golftalk was mentioned...

Finally I reckon of course there is always room for 2 golf forums... think of all the football sites out there... sportinglife, teamtalk, guardian prem league etc etc etc.....

I dont see any reason why golftalk and boards cant run in tandem... there are 1000's of golfers out there... :D ...
and after only a couple of weeks up golftalk is starting to attract a good few members.. Best of luck to it !

Had a look and in fairness it looks pretty good (the name has a ring to it too ;-) ), well organised and intuative.

Looks like its run by golfers which can only be a good thing.
Lots of good content, but it is only new so plenty of room to keep improving......

    Definitely worth a look.

"Anyone know of a new golf forum called golftalk.ie? Is there room for another?"

Is there another forum solely dedicated to Irish Golf?

    6 stickys here, 2 ....similar....on Golftalk:confused:

Anyway in response to a few posts here:

Stevo11- I think there is one or two golf forums about alright (GUI maybe, but they link Golftalk from their website). They seem a bit quiet so I'd say there is room in the market for a dedicated website.

Mark- I see youve ventured away from MMA for a bit;). There is several MMA forums out there (including your own excellent Tribal Warfare site :D) and they all seem to co-exist.

Floripa-My 'ol man is big into the Golf but he can barely find Golftalk let alone the golf tab in the sport section of Boards:D

Boards is and always will be a busy place (you'll find me lurking mainly on MMA and Soccer forums) and I dont really see this being negatively affected by any other forums, be they Golf, soccer or MMA.

Thats my 2 cents (but it only costs a penny for my thoughts)
