Damaged heel on new running shoes

Hi, I bought a pair of asics in Lifestyle at the end of August. They were to be my marathon shoes. I Have worn them 5 or 6 times on sand, grass as well as road. Today I noticed the heel was coming away from my right shoe. There is very little wear and tear on either shoe. I don;t think I still have the receipt at this stage. Anyone had similar experience or any advice?

Bring them back! They have to offer an exchange or refund cos they've worn out way too soon. Even if you've no receipt, a credit card statement or bank statement would do.

What kind of asics are they i.e. are they racing flats & what style are they (Gel Kayanos??)? I've never had any problems with asics runners in the past. I would definitely try to bring them back as this shouldn't be happening if you only bought them in August, a mere month ago!

They are Gel 3100. Likewise I have ran in Asics for years with 3 or 4 pairs on the go at the same time and never had this problem. Must be a fault in this shoe. Unfortunately paid in cash but will let ye know how get on.

you will need a credit card statment at the very least.
Also they will have to send the back to asics to see if they are a fault of the shoe???
you are training for a marathon, have them well over a month and you only wore them 5-6 times????:(

Just buy another pair from the same shop. Give them the ones you've got as faulty and ask them to repiar or replace them. When they ask for your receipt give them the new one. They won't care and your not being dishonest -- you've just lost the other receipt.

Alternatively call Asics and explain the problem. They may ask you to send them back but they will send you a new pair.

I got 400 miles out of a shoe (New Balance) and it wore out. I wasn't happy with this so I made a realllly nice complaint and they asked me to send the shoes straight back to them in the UK (€6.00 in postage). I got a new pair by return.

The shoe companies are very good at looking after serious runners as they know that these people can spend upwards of €500 on shoes a year.

The trick is to complain correctly i.e.the right person , the right tone and all that.
