    thought i post some of the medal index cards of irish soldiers in the british army that were execuited while serving in WW1.

    George Hanna and Albert Rickman landed at Suvla Bay .

    all of these soldiers were volunteers and had seen and taken part in some of the horrors and the worst fighting of the war. as i recall all to a man suffered from shell shock and had good army records. no doubt some soldiers who were shot by firing squad deserved what they got , and indeed many should have been shot and were not, but many many british soldiers shot at dawn didn't deserve to die at the hands of their comrades including the irish who died as volunteer soldiers .
