Probably going to get the usual replies from the usual two camps but humour me anyway.

Small-ish money could see me from my '02 320Ci into an '02 735i with all the toys (though I guess most have). My car has been pretty faultless over the three years I've had it and I've struggled to think what I would replace it with. I don't do big miles, maybe 6-8k miles per year so tax is steep on the 2.2 anyway and it's auto so averages around 25mpg. The change would involve almost doubling the road tax and I'm sure a further dip in the MPGs but I'm still thinking about it.

Anyone any thoughts, opinions or experience on owning, driving or living with these 7ers?

Funny you should say that, I spent a while staring at this ad last night: http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=200938195252921

That car has been around for a while now. Great value - although I'm rather surprised the mileage is so low with three owners.

And, for what it's worth, mywheels.ie says it has four owners. It does have the comfort seats though, which are apparently quite rare and well worth having.

i'd go for the older model.. it's class lookin compared to the bloated look the new one has.

Life is short. If you can afford to tax and maintain it, you'd be mad not to. You might never get so much car for so little again.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

10k for a superb limousine that cost 140k 7 years ago? Value doesn't come better than that :D

Make sure you have it checked by an independent BMW specialist. Make sure everything works as it should. Has it a full history? Are you buying from a dealer - in which case you make sure the terms of the warranty are clear and in writing.
