Dell Laptop problem

Hey, don't know if this is the right place to post this but just thought I'd ask.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, I got it about 4 years and it's worked fine except for some problems with the screen. When I first got it the screen started to loosen on the bottom left side, I sent it away and they fixed it, for the last year the screen has been loosening in the same place. At this point when the screen if up you can see this hugh gap along the edge and I can sometimes snap it into place but when it's closed the hinge gapes open and you can see into inside of the laptop screen.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the inspiron laptops. Also the function is fine at the moment but was wondering if I leave this longer could there be further damage.

    Thanks for any help.
